  • 1 pound raw medium-sized shrimp tails removed, cleaned, and deveined
  • 1 tablespoon sambal oelek chili paste
  • ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
  • ½ teaspoon Tabasco sauce
  • ½ cup low-fat mayonnaise
  • 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 3 chopped green onions
  • 1 cup shredded red cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded white cabbage
  • Cooking spray
  • 8 100 % whole wheat tortillas
  • 1 lime

Prepare the Bang Bang Shrimp:

  • Clean and devein the shrimp, ensuring the tails are removed. Place them in a bowl.

  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the low-fat mayonnaise, sambal oelek, sweet chili sauce, and Tabasco sauce to create the bang bang sauce. Adjust the spiciness to your liking. Reserve ¼ of the sauce for drizzling.

  • Place the Panko bread crumbs in a shallow bowl next to the sauce.

Coat and Air Fry the Shrimp:

  • Dip each shrimp into the bang bang sauce, ensuring they are well coated.
  • After coating with the sauce, carefully roll the shrimp in the Panko bread crumbs, ensuring an even coating.
  • Arrange the coated shrimp on a single layer in the crisper tray of the air fryer, making sure they don't overlap. You may need to do this in batches.
  • Lightly spray the tops of the shrimp with cooking spray for a golden brown finish.

  • Set the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (193 degrees Celsius) and air fry the shrimp for 6 to 8 minutes until they turn golden brown and crispy.
  • Check after 6 minutes, and if needed, cook for an additional minute or two.

Assemble the Tacos:

  • To assemble the tacos, start with a layer of shredded red and white cabbage at the bottom of each tortilla shell.

  • Place the crispy bang bang shrimp on top of the cabbage.
