Preheat your air fryer to 325°F (165°C). This ensures that it's at the right temperature when you're ready to cook the brownies.
Prepare the Chocolate:
Chop the chocolate into chunks. Melt half of the chocolate, and set the other half aside for later use.
8 ounces of good-quality chocolate
Mix the Wet Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar.
¾ cup butter, 1 ¼ cups sugar
Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract for 1-2 minutes until the mixture becomes fluffy and light in color.
2 eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Whisk in the reserved melted chocolate (ensure it's not too hot to avoid cooking the eggs).
Sift and Fold Dry Ingredients:
Sift in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt into the wet ingredients. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, taking care not to overmix.
¾ cup all-purpose flour, ¼ cup cocoa powder, 1 teaspoon salt
Overmixing can result in a more cake-like texture, and we want these brownies to be fudgy.
Add Chocolate Chunks:
Fold in the chocolate chunks into the brownie batter.
Transfer to Baking Dish:
Line a square baking dish with parchment paper. Transfer the brownie batter into the lined dish, spreading it evenly.
Air Fry the Brownies:
Place the baking dish with the brownie batter into the preheated air fryer.
Cook:
Air fry the brownies at 325°F (165°C) for 20-25 minutes. The exact cooking time depends on how fudgy you prefer your brownies.
Start checking at the 20-minute mark by inserting a toothpick into the center; if it comes out with a few moist crumbs, your brownies are ready.
Cool and Serve:
Once done, remove the brownies from the air fryer and let them cool completely in the baking dish.
After cooling, slice the brownies into squares. Serve these brownies with a cold glass of milk or your favorite beverage!
