I thought I’d share these photos of our mothers. These pictures were taken many years ago when they were in the prime of their lives.
This photo was taken in our yard around 1969. Leo’s mother is sitting on his car. It’s the car he drove when he went to the University of South Carolina. At this point in her life, she was already a cancer survivor. She went on to live another 40 years. She is dearly missed by all of us.
This is my favorite photo of my mother. This photo was made in 1960 on a day when I marched in a Christmas Parade in our hometown. I remember that day because I had my photo made, too. My mother is 88 years old and she is still with us. She lives in an apartment behind our house.
Mothers are memory makers. Mother’s Day is a perfect time to recall and reflect on all those beautiful memories that we have of our mothers.
